Two Generations of Maltese Artistic Families Exhibition and Book Launch 2015

Two generations of Maltese artists will be exhibiting their work side by side in APS Bank’s second art exhibition Two Generations of Maltese Artistic Families in a three-year project.

The works of distinguished veteran artists George Fenech and Joseph L. Mallia will be exhibited alongside those of their children, Gilbert Fenech and Henriette Mallia.

Spectacular 23rd Edition of the Malta International Airshow

The 23rd edition of the Malta International Airshow was a touch of class for the aviation enthusiast, offering various rare photo opportunities.

This was due to a get together of aircraft which are not normally seen on one apron during airshows. In fact, Europe’s largest Air Show, the Royal International Air Tattoo, even commented positively on their own Facebook page about the Malta airshow.

Exhibition and book featuring St John Paul II launched by APS Bank

A unique exhibition featuring 11 paintings of St John Paul II is being held at APS Bank Centre in Swatar until the 8th October 2015.

Titled “Saint of the Century”, these original paintings are the work of renowned artist Don Heywood. Mr Heywood’s illustrious career includes various works of art commissioned by the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club and Community Rights Counsel, among others. Such works of art comprise a life-sized portrait of H M Queen Elizabeth II in Buckingham Palace and the Smithsonian Endangered Species Collection.

13 countries to participate in the 23rd edition of the Malta International Airshow

The Malta Aviation Society, organisers of the Malta International Airshow, revealed details of the 23rd edition of the airshow to be held on Saturday and Sunday, 26th, 27th September. 12 countries and NATO will be participating in this year’s airshow. The flying display includes two aerobatic teams – The PC-7 Swiss Air Force team, and the Orlik team from the Polish Air Force. Malta International Airshow – RAF 1(F) Squadron is back!

1(F) Squadron back to Malta … this time with Typhoons.

The Royal Air Force’s 1(F) Squadron has confirmed its participation in this year’s edition of the Malta International with two Eurofighter Typhoon jets in the static display.

2008 saw the last time that 1(F) Squadron aircraft visited our island. It was then equipped with the Harrier jump-jet but this time it is equipped with Britain’s most capable fighter/bomber. The squadron reformed on the type just two years ago and is based at RAF Lossiemouth, Scotland.
