Once again, sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to another intern. Three months ago, we met Elena, an Italian student who came to Malta for a marketing internship. From the beautiful city of Teramo, in the region of Abruzzo, she came to our island to learn more about Marketing and Public Relations through hands-on experience.

The success rate has been amazing to say the least. The concept proved to be successful since the very first career day was held in Zabbar in 2016.
We were lucky enough to meet Danielle Lord last year during our Career Day in Zabbar. It happened to be just a few days after she moved from the UK to Malta. Within two weeks she was working at our office as a full time office administrator.

Maypole joined forces with the Malta Institute of Professional Photography (MIPP) in its search for 12 photos which will be featured in the Maypole official 2019 calendar. The process will take the form of a competition which will then be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the MIPP.

Y Ltd staff and visitors will be enjoying a painting by Karen Rietveld, a Dutch artist, whose sister is a Y Ltd intern. The Dutch artist, who hasn’t been to Malta so far, has relied on her sister’s photos of the island to create the painting.

The much-awaited Fiera l-Kbira 2017 dates have been announced. Malta’s largest commercial fair will be held between the 6th and the 16th of July. The fourth edition of the fair is once more expected to draw a 100,000 + attendance at the Montekristo Estates. The venue will be transformed into one huge shopping village with hundreds of businesses offering special deals during the 10 days of the Fair.
HR Managers representing 26 companies had the opportunity to meet with over 520 potential employees who attended the latest Career Day held at the Saint Theresa College in Birkirkara.

At the Fort, which has been recently restored, the team got to better understand and appreciate the fortified walls and the amazing history of the different sections making up Fort Saint Angelo.

APS Bank has launched the third and final art exhibition in the series Two Generations of Maltese Artistic Families. The exhibition features works of art by the late Giuseppe Cassar (1917 – 2002) and his daughter Maria Rossella Dalmas as well as Albert Joseph Caruana and his daughter Doranne Alden Caruana.

Polish Su-22 display team for Malta air display 2016 will consist of four bomber-fighter aircraft. Three of them will be single seater M3 model, and the fourth will be double seater UM3K model. All will be painted in a new, grey scheme of the camouflage, originated in 2015.

SmartCity Malta – BMIT Limited, Malta’s largest data centre operator, today officially opened a new €3.5 million data centre at SmartCity Malta. The data centre, which was officially inaugurated by Minister Christian Cardona, is built to the highest industry standards and using the most recent data centre technologies.
In the past year we have been developing a new team building programme based on communication. Just over 700 people were assisted by Malta Red Cross lifeguards while another 900 were given help by the Malta Red Cross ambulance service team in 2015. The much-awaited Mdina Cathedral Contemporary Art Biennale 2015 was set in motion yesterday evening with Euchar Gravina’s Stabat Mater performed by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Christopher Muscat. The concert forms part of the special jury prize awarded to Euchar Gravina as the recipient of the APS Bank 2012 National Music Competition. The international jury was fascinated by the work presented by Mr Gravina and were further impressed when they found out that he was only 17 years old at the time of entry.

It was an amazing experience to be able to help out other people through this national fundraising event. However, following the event, I told Peppi Azzopardi that I wanted to create an event during which we could raise voluntary time rather than money. He immediately likes the idea and promised support through Malta’s most watched TV programme – Xarabank.
Meet Samuel. Samuel is an avid aviation enthusiast. However, since 2 years old he couldn’t see the aircraft due to a visual impairment. Along with various teams participating at the airshow, we gave Samuel VIP treatment and allowed him to feel the aircraft while explaining the function of several parts of the plane.
The Malta Aviation Society, organisers of the Malta International Airshow, revealed details of the 23rd edition of the airshow to be held on Saturday and Sunday, 26th, 27th September. 12 countries and NATO will be participating in this year’s airshow. The flying display includes two aerobatic teams – The PC-7 Swiss Air Force team, and the Orlik team from the Polish Air Force. 103,000 visitors attended the second edition il-Fiera l-Kbira at MonteKristo Estate. This is a slight increase over last years’ edition. The Fiera l-Kbira came to an end yesterday evening with the presentation of the grand prize, a Citoren C4 Cactus, to its winner – Ms. Alison Catania.
The world-renowned Swiss PC-7 team sent a video message to Malta International Airshow fans in view of their participation at this year’s airshow. The Swiss Air Force PC-7 Team visited the island twice in 2006 and 2011. In 2014 the Team introduced smoke systems to their aircraft and this will be the first time ever the Team will use smoke during their display in Malta.
Minister for Finance, Edward Scicluna, commended the valuable contribution family-run SMEs give to the economy and said that, in the coming months, the Government will be strengthening the incentives available for enterprises of this kind and facilitating their use of credit.
Over 30,000 people visited the Fiera l-Kbira, being held at MonteKristo Estate, in its first four days.
